Together, Floor360 Consortium members and the larger IMCP Implementation Committee, led by the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission and Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute, are working in concert to realize Northwest Georgia’s Regional Advanced Manufacturing Strategy.

Currently, regional stakeholders are working in five implementation committee working groups to address the following targeted areas for improvement in the region:
• Workforce Training and Education
• Infrastructure
• Research, Innovation, and Sustainability
• Partnerships
• Marketing

Each working group is tackling multiple short-, medium-, and long-term projects designed to further strengthen their respective areas. All of the projects are supporting and building toward the creation of the Northwest Georgia Center for Sustainable Floor Covering Innovation and Advanced Workforce Readiness (S-FLOR), which will become the nucleus of this activity moving forward.

S-FLOR will be designed to provide solutions for industry-driven questions, supply a technically apt workforce, and promote partnerships between university and industry in order to grow the floor covering cluster and other supporting advanced manufacturing industries in the region. S-FLOR will merge leading research capabilities at Georgia Tech with GNTC’s footprint in the region.
